Cookies and Local Storage
Most sites open with a banner here. This one has nothing to ask you for. No advertising cookies, no analytics, no tracking pixels. What follows is the complete list of everything this site puts on your device, and it is short enough to read in full.
Effective27 July 2026
Applies tomoments.recfocus.com, every page of it
This page describes what the site does today. If measurement of any kind is ever added, this page changes before it goes live and the effective date changes with it. Not legal advice.
The Short Version
In one paragraphThis site sets no cookies at all. It stores two small values in your own browser, both of them purely so that the site behaves the way you left it. Neither leaves your device, neither identifies you, and neither is transmitted with any network request. You can delete both in about four seconds, and the site will still work perfectly without them.
Everything below is the long version of that paragraph, written out so that you can check it rather than take our word for it.
What This Site Does Not Set
Stated explicitly, because absence is difficult to prove and easy to skip past:
- No advertising or retargeting cookies
- No analytics of any kind. No Google Analytics, no Meta pixel, no TikTok pixel, no LinkedIn insight tag, no Pinterest tag
- No session recording, no heatmaps, no scroll tracking
- No A/B testing, personalisation, or recommendation cookies
- No cross site trackers, no browser fingerprinting, no device identifiers
- No chat widget, no lead capture script, no third party form service
- No consent banner, because there is no consent to collect
This is a deliberate choice rather than an oversight. A site about private family celebrations is a strange place to install a surveillance network, and a studio that asks families to trust it with footage of their children should not be quietly instrumenting the page that footage sits on.
What This Site Actually Stores
Two values. Both live in your own browser's storage, which is a different mechanism from a cookie: cookies are attached to every network request, and these are not. Nothing here is ever sent to a server.
| Name | Kind | What it holds | Lifespan | Why |
|---|---|---|---|---|
moments-theme |
localStorage | One word, either light or dark |
Until you clear it | Remembers whether you chose Ivory or Ink, so the site opens the way you left it and never flashes the wrong color at you on the way in. |
| Opening animation marker | sessionStorage | A short flag meaning "the opening logo has already played" | Until you close the tab | Plays the opening logo animation once per visit rather than every single time you move between pages. |
Neither value contains a name, an email address, an identifier, a timestamp, or anything derived from you. Both are readable only by pages on this site, and neither is shared with any other domain.
If you never touch the mode switch
Then moments-theme is never written at all. Until you make an explicit choice, the site simply follows your operating system's light or dark preference, and nothing is stored. The value appears only when you decide something.
Film Players and youtube-nocookie.com
The films are hosted on YouTube. On this site, each one is shown as a still poster with a play control on top of it. That poster is a local image served from this site.
The part that mattersNo YouTube code, no YouTube iframe, and no request of any kind to a Google server is made until you click play. Until that moment, YouTube does not know you are here. Scrolling past ten films costs YouTube nothing and tells it nothing.
When you do click play, the player is loaded from youtube-nocookie.com, which is YouTube's privacy enhanced embed mode. In that mode YouTube defers its usual cookies and does not use what you watch there to personalise advertising.
It is not zero contact, and it would be dishonest to describe it as such. Once the player loads, YouTube receives your IP address and player usage data, and Google's own privacy policy governs that. If you never press play, none of it happens.
Other Hosts a Page Load Touches
Opening a page makes requests to a few external hosts. These are network requests rather than stored data, so nothing on this list leaves anything behind on your device. They are listed anyway, because a privacy page that omits them is only telling half the story.
- Google Fonts (
fonts.googleapis.comandfonts.gstatic.com) serves the typefaces this site is set in. Google receives the request, including your IP address and browser user agent. Google states that the Fonts service sets no cookies and that font requests are not used for advertising profiling. - unpkg.com serves the icon set, pinned to one fixed version. Same shape: a file request, no cookie.
- The web host serving this page keeps ordinary server logs including IP addresses, as every web server on the internet does.
- YouTube, and only after you press play, as described above.
There is nothing else. No tag manager, no CDN of trackers, no third party font of a marketing platform, no embedded map, no social widget that phones home.
How to Clear What Is Stored
Any of these works. None of them break anything.
- Just switch it back. Toggle the mode control between Ivory and Ink and the stored value simply changes. There is no separate reset to find.
- Clear this site's data in your browser. Open the site, then find the site data controls for
moments.recfocus.comand delete them. That removes both values at once.- Chrome and Edge: Settings, then Privacy and security, then Third party cookies, then See all site data and permissions.
- Safari: Settings, then Privacy, then Manage Website Data.
- Firefox: Settings, then Privacy and Security, then Cookies and Site Data, then Manage Data.
- Use a private or incognito window. Nothing survives once the window is closed.
- Block storage entirely. If your browser or an extension blocks local storage for this site, the site still works. It simply forgets your mode choice between visits and follows your operating system preference each time.
Clearing the values does not log you out of anything, because there is nothing to be logged out of.
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
Some browsers send a Do Not Track header, and some send a Global Privacy Control signal. Many sites respond to these with a paragraph explaining why they will not honor them.
This site has nothing to switch off in response, because it does not track and it does not sell personal information. Both signals are therefore honored in the only way that actually means anything: there is no tracking here to begin with, whether you send a signal or not.
If This Ever Changes
A studio can grow, and a day may come when some form of measurement genuinely helps. If anything on this page stops being true, three things happen:
- This page is updated before the change goes live, not afterwards.
- The effective date at the top changes, so the difference is visible.
- Anything that requires consent asks for it properly, with a real choice and nothing ticked in advance.
If you ever find something on this site that contradicts this page, that is a bug and we want to hear about it. Write to moments@recfocus.com.
